Actually.. it's less corrupt then pretty much anwhere in the world. It just seems corrupt because our law enforcement does a better job, and the media forces the government to be more transparent.
In other words... there are a lot of really corrupt politicians, particularly Republicans, but there are fewer, by far, than any place else... except maybe Canada.. heh
It seems that the corruption usually revolves around raising funds for campaigns and the delicate positions this then puts our elected politicians into.
What do you think about the idea of state funding for parties?

Absolutely.. completely state funded with reasonable caps. That would take out all the lobbiest influence.
