North Korea Cunducts Nuclear Test

I am under the opinion that the midget has gone to far this time and must pay and be brought in line with the will of the international community, if that does not happen, only the people of North Korea are going to pay at the hands of that insane midget.

The people of North Korea are brainwashed from birth to hate our country and are taught that we started the Korean War, which we all knows not to be the case.

White House spokesman Tony Snow, who has been busy enough with the attacks by insane liberals, said the U.S. government had not confirmed the claims of a nuclear test but that it "would constitute a provocative act in defiance of the will of the international community and of our call to refrain from actions that would aggravate tensions in Northeast Asia."

The U.S. Geology Survey said it had detected a 4.2 magnitude tremor in North Korea at 10:35 local time (0135 GMT). The Japan Meteorological Agency said its data showed a tremor took place around Gilju, on the peninsulas northeast coast around 110 km (70 miles) from the Chinese border.

The amount tested has been in dispute, either way the unexpected announcement of the test pushed the dollar to an eight-month high against the yen and helped shove oil above $60 a barrel. South Korea's won fell 1.5 percent to two-month lows and its main stock index tumbled down as much as 3.6 percent.

The outcry resulting from this test has been overwhelming and from all corners of the world, even Russian President Vladimir Putin told Cabinet officials Monday that Moscow "certainly condemns the test conducted by North Korea." "It doesn't just concern North Korea; enormous damage has been done to the process of nonproliferation of weapons of mass destruction in the world."

If North Korea thought they were backed into a corner before, than they will be fully surprised at what I’m sure is to happen now.

Japan has been the hardest on this subject and they have even talked about changing their constitution to allow for a possible military strike on the reclusive and insane regime.

I would not oppose airstrikes by the U.S. aimed at trying to take out any suspected sites that may hamper them in their efforts.

It has been widely said that the North Koreans do not have the technology and ability to make a nuclear device small of light enough to be put on a rocket that would be able to reach the continental US.

"The breaking of a de-facto global moratorium on nuclear explosive testing that has been in place for nearly a decade and the addition of a new state with nuclear weapon capacity is a clear setback to international commitments to move towards nuclear disarmament," the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Mohamed ElBaradei, said in a statement.

One can only let this play out and see where it goes form here, but for some reason I have a feeling that North Korea is going to be wishing that they never went ahead with the test in the first place.

If nothing else I’m sure there will be some serious sanctions being thrown North Koreas way, we need to stop this madman midget from holding his neighbors hostage and if he wants to continue his threats against the United States he better understand the consequences of these actions, this isn’t pussy Bill Clinton in the White House.

Terry,
I'll leave you the same comment I left over at HWT:
After being stationed in South Korea for roughly 4 years, I can tell you this. It isn't about how quickly we can finish them off, it's about how much dammage we can prevent them from doing. The North can only logistically fight a full-on war for a week 1/2 to 2 weeks. They know that, We know that and the South knows that. They will throw everything at the South just to make it so horrific, that we will be forced to the bargaining table. MILLIONS of South Korean civillians will be killed in the 1st 24 hours of an attack, conventional or nuclear. Which means EVERY LAST PERSON I MET OR KNOW OVER THERE WILL DIE in the 1st 24 hours. That's why it makes me sick when you hear the libs cry foul on Iraq and say "why not North Korea?". A couple thousand in Iraq, or 30+ thousand troops along with 1 million+ civillians in Korea within 24 hours...weigh the options. And God forbid if China sides with the North. There are no easy answers for this one, it will be a holocaust.

Because of my love for Korea,it's people, and culture, I have been looking for the solution for years. Also, do not forget the FACT, that the North, by Military figures, has a 110% chance (yeah 110%) of using chemical weapons in the 1st strike. That's why we had so much NBC training over there.

When you see the US pull out the Military family members and most of the contractors, you will know we're ALL about to be in a cyclone of death.

I do agree which is why I believe we have takes the steps to strengthen our presence in Japan, who I believe will be our greatest ally if and when the North attacks.

We need to consider any nuclear tests and missile tests over Japan as acts of nuclear agression and respond accordingly with nuclear weapons - and then take the consequences.

Otherwise, any third rate nation with any sense will develop nuclear weapons for their benefits of defence and deterance against interference from the USA and outside world.

We need to take the same attitude with Iran - and should have followed the same course with Pakistan, India and possibly Israel. Although Israel is a special case, as it is effectively placed within a 'den on rabied wolves'.
