John McCain Grows A Backbone

In the past the country has gotten behind its leaders in time of crisis, not always for themselves, but for the better good of the country and ultimately for themselves.

Unfortunately that doesn’t seem to be the case with most in the Democrat party these days, they have over the past 6yrs done nothing but try to weaken, attack and try to undermine this Administration and President.

Not one Democrat has brought up the failings of the Clintons in their handling of North Korea, maybe it’s the fact that Clinton and his ilk are too scared to tell the world how they were raked over the coals by a pot-bellied dog eating midget.

The only person I have heard going after the Clintons besides the talk shows hosts is an unlikely person, Presidential hopeful John McCain.

"I would remind Senator Clinton and other Democrats critical of Bush administration policies that the framework agreement her husband's administration negotiated was a failure," said McCain. "The Koreans received millions in energy assistance. They diverted millions in food assistance to their military. And what did they do? They secretly enriched uranium."

He wasn’t done there either, "Every single time the Clinton administration warned the Koreans not to do something -- not to kick out the IAEA inspectors, not to remove the fuel rods from their reactor -- they did it. And they were rewarded every single time by the Clinton administration with further talks."

Now we all know that Clinton is in love with himself and is trying to build a legacy for himself out of failed policies, he knows that what he accomplished in his 8years as President will not garner enough to make him great President let alone a decent one.

He ignored terrorist threats from all over the world and decided to run his government based on public opinion polls and was hampered because of it, that’s his fault not anyone else’s.

A spokesman for President Clinton, Ben Yarrow, said in a statement that it was "unfortunate that anyone would attempt to rewrite history to score political points at a time when we need to address this serious threat."

"For eight years during the Clinton administration, there was no new plutonium production, no nuclear weapons tests and therefore no additional nuclear weapons developed on President Clinton's watch."

This is the truth, but only half of it.

“Let me just make it very, very clear. I would not have said anything if the Democrats -- Mrs. Clinton, Senator Kerry, [Senate Democratic Leader] Senator [Harry] Reid [NV] and others -- had not attacked the Bush administration. I said this in response to their attacks on President Bush. I think this is the wrong time for us to be engaging in finger-pointing, when this crucial time we need the world and Americans united in going to the United Nations bringing about sanctions and action -- meaningful action against North Korea,” Said Presidential hopeful John McCain.

There have not been many times where I actually have agreed with McCain, but at least he is right on this issue and it’s nice to see him with an actual backbone, but he has along way to go to prove to me and everyone else that he deserves the GOP nomination in 2008.

The one thing I do know is that I hope that Hillary gets the nomination because that is the surest way for the GOP to win the election in my opinion.

If all the Democrats have is the hate spewed by Hillary and her ilk, than the have already lost.
